Education Works Alliance is a broad-based community partnership dedicated to building "prosperity through training, education and lifelong learning.”
The Education Works Alliance brings together educational institutions, employment services, social service providers, public libraries and business representation to promote access to and awareness of learning and education.
We are committed to carrying out actions that will raise the education, literacy and skill levels of adults in Brantford, Brant, Six Nations, New Credit, Haldimand and Norfolk in order to in order to improve educational attainment rates, and job opportunities.
We want to create a culture for learning, and improve the reputation of Grand Erie as being a “centre of learning” and create a culture that values education and learning as a pathway to prosperity.
Through this, we want to strengthen and develop the talent and skill-levels of the workforce, creating a better environment for investment and economic growth in the emerging “creative economy”.
The Alliance was started and is facilitated by the Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie, after the community identified a need for a regional education strategy.
In April 2012, Education Works Alliance received financial support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for two years. We thank the Trillium Foundation for their support.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
